Brianne, with her moving poem Sister Love and Jessica with her mood enhancing rhythmic, Perfect Time were worthy winners of the Peg Chamberlain Poetry Prize at Garden Suburb Public School. Aiden, Henry and Brittany earned commendations. Josh experimented with a given form and another poet offered haiku. Great writing Garden Suburb!

Wow, that year went so fast and the new year is already flying. I hope there’ll be no problems with my computer this year!

I’m sorry that I missed out on recording my congratulations to the young poets at Garden Suburb, Maitland, Old Bar and Tomaree Public Schools and Woodenbong Central. I was so impressed by the quality of the poetry you wrote.

I hope you all enjoy the freedom of expressing yourself, without being bound by the need to find rhymes.

The new writing group ‘Scribblers' is producing such interesting stories, we are now planning a book.

Congratulations to Paige and Brooke, winners of the Poetry Prize for blank verse at Cardiff Public School. Congratulations too, to Rourke, Jake and Joel of Year 6 and Tahlia, Montana and Haylee of Year 4 whose poems were highly commended. It was a pleasure to read such expressive poetry.

I’ve found another delightful word. The word is taradiddle and it means a petty lie or pretentious nonsense. You’ll read it in my next novel.

The Play

Wow! The first of my new year resolutions has been achieved.

My new play of two acts as been completed. Yay! A group of local actors were enthusiastic after reading it. I trust their instincts. I’ve entered the play in a competition... so fingers crossed! Now back to the sequel to Skywasp! It grows so slowly... now near 60,000 words.
