Achievements
It’s by writing every day that one becomes a writer.
For two years I was the Woodenbong correspondent for Lismore, Warwick and Kyogle newspapers, for which I earned one cent a line. Through my interests in children and writing, I became Founding President of four organizations.
I was involved in the establishment of two country Pre-school Kindergartens as Founding President of each Association. My article about the setting up of the Bundarra Pre-School Kindergarten was published in the Women's Weekly in 1967 and my name appears on the plaque recording the opening of the Woodenbong Pre-School Kindergarten in 1977.
In 1987 I organised a meeting at the Newcastle Workers Club attended by State President of the Fellowship of Australian Writers, Dr Hilarie Lindsay, at which the Hunter Regional of the Fellowship of Australian Writers was established. I became the Founding President of the group.

In 2001 I became the Founding President of Port Stephens Regional of the Fellowship of Australian Writers.
For nine years I participated in the annual workshop for Gifted and Talented children at Gresford Primary School and also conducted workshops at schools in the Hunter Valley and elsewhere in NSW.
